As a child, being allowed to play bầu cua cá cọp and Vietnamese Bingo was a highlight of the holiday, after eating mom's yummy New Year dishes. I never understood why the bầu (gourd) was part of the game- so I was not inclined to place my luck there.
My family would go wash their hands or use the restroom to clear their system of bad luck during a losing streak. This is what inspired movable game placements. Only the banker can change the mat pieces. Although, in your home, your rules. My recreation is inspired by tradition, but is flexible to changes. I hope you enjoy the slight changes to the game as much as I do!
Good Luck!

ps. We also broke a few ceramic plates over the years from shaking too hard- which is why I had to include dice shakers with the game set.
