Have you ever been to Nara, Japan? They are famous for their scared deers. When given cookies, they will bow their heads to you (and you reciprocate). One large male deer was super hungry and nipped at me! As an elementary school teacher, I used my behavorial management skills to reward good behavior. So, my cookies were given to the patient and nice deers.=)
